Hello Grilled Octopus: Rhodes, Greece

Yeah…

Last night. June 15th 2016, I FINALLY finished editing my pictures from Rhodes, Greece.

My bad.

Any-who…

My Dad, Grace, Felipe, and I spent about a week, July 4-10th, in Rhodes, Greece.

What was our first stop?

FOOD.

This was the start of my two obsessions in Greece:

Greek Salad

and Grilled Octopus

Check out the views from ourΒ AMAZING house….

Something magical about an infinity pool…

July 5th

We hopped in the car and headed North towards Old Town Rhodes.

Before we explored the historic town we obviously had to eat πŸ˜‰

Oh look! More grilled octopus πŸ™‚

Port of Rhodes

There were a few stray cats wandering the docks so I may have made a friend πŸ˜‰

And obviously all that walking warranted a SNACK!

July 6th

We took a chill day and explored the beautiful town Lindos that was about 10 minutes from our house.

July 7th

The most important thing about this day? WE FOUND AN AMAZING RESTAURANT. Stefano’s RestaurantΒ πŸ™‚

Look! I ordered grilled octopus again πŸ˜‰

July 8th

We hoped in the car and headed South towards Prasonisi Kite Beach. Β On our way, Dad took a detour through a RANDOM little town and look what I found!

I also took probably two of my favorite pictures…

We might have gone back to our favorite restaurant, Stefano’s, for lunch πŸ˜‰ BUT it wasn’t just for the food! The restaurant sits on the waterfront with a great little beach area.

One of the main reasons we came to Rhodes was so that Dad could reunite with an old friendΒ who lives on Rhodes. After graduating high school my dad actually spent a WHOLE SUMMER in Greece. So we spent the evening in Asklipiio reminiscing and making new memories.

Look at this picture πŸ™‚ *In the top photo Dad is in the white shirt*

“When we graduated from Howland, Bill, Sam, George and I spent our summer in Greece. It took me 34 years to return to Rhodes and see Bill (Vasilios). It’s funny, so much time passed yet it felt like no time had passed. Very impressed with all that Bill has done, and we LOVED his family.”

July 9th

Back to Lindos! This time Dad, Felipe and I were going to climb to the very top of Lindos to the Acropolis.

I love this shot I was able to capture between a mother and daughter <3

Views from TOP:

The hot sun and walking made me VERY SWEATY and VERY HUNGRY. I think Dad and FelipeΒ were pretty toasty too….

FOOD TIME! I am pretty sure I devoured this in .2 seconds πŸ˜‰

July 10th

WeΒ ended our last day in my absolute favorite restaurant. We had also come here on our first night, but I didn’t bring my camera. Then, when we returned on our last night and I remembered to BRING MY CAMERA, I completely zoned out and didn’t get any pictures of the amazing food. Maybe because I was too busy eating it πŸ˜‰

If you come to Rhodes you MUST visit Mourella!

I mean it is just stunning…

How many restaurants have REAL GRAPES cascading from a trellised ceiling?

And the food is simply divine.

Overall, Rhodes was amazing. Great food. Great beaches. Stunning sights.

As Father’s Day is this weekend I want to take the time to thank my Father for not only taking me on this AMAZING trip but for everything he does for me and our family! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!! I love you!
