My Science Side: The Ultimate Decision

As your already know I applied to three graduate programs and I got THREE INTERVIEWS ๐Ÿ™‚ woohoo!

Here are a couple Instagram photos from the process ๐Ÿ™‚

During my interviews I was often asked why I applied to only three programs and my response usually consisted of…

1.) I LOVE MARYLAND and specifically Baltimore

2.) I LOVE my family and friends and I want to stay in Baltimore

3.) I am EXTREMELY lucky to have two AMAZING schools to choose from in the Baltimore are, UMD and JHU

Then they would then ask why the specific programs (all translational research/genetics based) and my response usually consisted of….

1.)ย  I always wanted to be a doctor, but through my research experiences I realized I wanted to affect patient care and not just the patients themselves

2.) I think genetics is the future of research and medicine and I want to be a part of that movement.

So….after 4 days of interviews, 14 faculty interviews, 1 student interview, lots of food, and lots of booze, I am happy to announce

I am going to GRAD SCHOOL!!!!

Specifically, I have been accepted to the Predoctoral Training Program in Human Genetics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine!!

I have not heard from the other two programs but this program was my first choice so I accepted their offer!

Love always, Arianna the Wandering Pipette
