I’ve made caramel cupcakes before, but these were really good!
The caramel sauce was INCREDIBLY easy to make. I might have let it cool a little too long, oops. So, in order to get it back to the consistency that I wanted I simply stuck the sauce in the microwave and warmed in up in increments of 15 secs. Just a warning, if you do end up warming up your sauce test it before you add to your frosting mixture! Warm/Hot caramel does not mix well with butter, and will therefore affect the texture of your frosting.
Also, I think the sea salt is crucial! It added a nice saltiness when you bit into the cupcake.
