After 7 days of non-stop moving I was ready for a break and specifically the beach! In love with the flavor and the price of the Bahn Mi’s from the day before, Alex, Juliane, and I, decided to grab some sandwiches before heading to the beach.
I got BBQ Pork again 🙂 But this time I filmed them why they made my delicious sandwich. Well, I might have ordered two…
In case you forgot HOW AMAZING THIS SANDWICH LOOKS…
With our sandwiches carefully packed away, we got on our bicycles for the 20 minute ride to the beach. The best part about the coast is that it is VERY FLAT, but with the heat and humidity the flat ride was quite a trek.
When we finally got to the beach and I immediately sprinted across the hot sand and dove into the cold, refreshing water. The sun was BRUTAL, so I spent most of the day sipping cold drinks under the umbrella.
We spent almost all day on the beach, and then headed back to the hostel for some AIR-CONDITIONING and happy hour of course 🙂
For dinner, Juliane and Alex headed to a vegan restaurant, and Morgan, Aurie, Adi, and I headed to BALE WELL. I left my camera at home so only iPhone shots 🙁 We sat down and the food immediately started to appear! The restaurant is known for:
- Nem Nuong (grilled pork satay)
- Banh Xeo (rice pancakes)
- Ram Cuon (spring rolls)
- Thit Nuong (grilled pork)
The lady in charge showed us how to combine everything using the rice paper. There are two ways to combine the food:
- Rice Paper + Fresh Lettuce and Herbs + Veggies (I think they were lightly pickled) + Spring Roll + Pork
- Rice Paper + Bahn Xeo + Fresh Lettuce and Herbs + Veggies + Pork
We ate SO much! The one guy kept patting Morgan’s belly like he needed to eat more 🙂 After the second round of pork, they approached we more food and we made it very clear that would couldn’t handle any more food.
I finished the meal with mango mousse, nomnom.
WHAT A GREAT DAY! Nothing can beat a relaxing day at the beach combined with great food 🙂
Love always, Arianna the Wandering Pipette
